Spring fever

You know Easter is near in Ukraine (L’viv anyway) when Spring cleanup starts around town. Workers repaint the island dividers, lightposts and gutters, and some even whitewash the curb. It looks really nice and you can almost feel the energy around you. The good weather this past week has helped also. Yesterday was the holiday the Orthodox celebrate as the day the angel told Mary she would be the mother of Jesus. No manual labor on a holiday. Cassia, Alexandria, and I went on a picnic down by the stream and tried playing a little badminton. There was just enough of a breeze that it made it difficult for the birdie to go where we intended. We had fun anyway and enjoyed the warmth of the sun and beauty of God’s creation. Since today started out with an early piano lesson we are getting school work done this afternoon and cleaning up the place before mom and dad get back tomorrow afternoon. Where’s that machine the Cat in the Hat had when you need it? Just kidding. If you think of it today, please pray for the health of Lillian Burns and Elaine Schaefer, who are both recuperating from major surgery.
